Inhabitants capacity – new Source, better Estimates

Belmap’s Building Inhabitans Capacity Module provides the statistical estimation of the number of inhabitants of every residential building. This is invaluable for utility network planning, urban design, market analysis, and risk assessment for insurances.

The module now uses Statbel's new variable grid cell sizes, providing finer granularity:

•  Square cells of 125, 250, 500, or even 1000 meters, depending on the population density in the area.

This enhancement allows for more precise population estimates at the building level.

By distributing the officially registered population over all residential buildings based on their size and building use, we can estimate the number of inhabitants for every residential building more accurately.

Swimming pool update 

With an improved AI model, we have made an updated inventory of outdoor swimming pools across Belgium. 

Municipal mergers – approx. 200,000 address changes

Soon, several municipalities will merge in Flanders and Wallonia, impacting about 200,000 addresses with changes to municipality names, street names, or house numbers. The Belmap team is diligently updating these changes to ensure seamless data for our customers.
